I’m puzzled because the backup is creating loads of backup zip files – and the site isn’t that large at all.

    17 “uploads”
    2 “themes”
    3 “plugins”
    1 db
    1 other

    24 zip files altogether.
    This seems really excessive.
Is there anything wrong with this backup?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Mitzi,

What size are the zip files, and, if you open them, do they contain the files that make up your WordPress site?

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi,

Could you please send us a copy of the backup log? You can find this log in the Existing Backups tab of the original site’s UpdraftPlus dashboard.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

Could you also send us a copy of the restoration log? This can be found in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory of the new site.

    Best Wishes,
    David N

    Hi,

From the restoration logs, it appears that the restorations are being timed out or killed off while attempting to unpack the Plugins backup file.

Could you attempt to restore each section of the backup individually? Could you also ask the hosts/server admin of the new site to check the PHP error logs? These should log if a maximum execution or memory error is occurring.

    Best Wishes,
    David N

If I restore these individually, should I do them in a certain order? guessing I should save the DB for last?

Nevermind. Found the answer on your site. :)
