When BackWPup sends its log email, the email subject begins with [SUCCESSFUL], [FAILURE], OR [WARNING]. This lets me quickly identify whether I need to look at the email contents or can just file it.
I’m not clear whether UpdraftPlus does the same thing. The subjects for the UpdraftPlus log emails I’ve received to date all begin with “Backed up: [website name]”. If there were an error or warning condition, would the subject be different?
The subject doesn’t change (EDIT: Wrong: see below!), but there’s an option to only send the email if there was an error or warning condition. And optionally, to send the emails to different addresses if there was.
Most email programs also allow you to filter an email based upon their content, so you can use that facility as well.
Actually, you can filter the subject. If has “with errors” in it if there were errors; and “with warnings” in it if there were no errors but were warnings.
