When looking for a backup plugin, are you looking for restore functionality too? Some backup solutions have no restore capability: none, zilch, zip, nada.

That means that when you get to actually needing your backups – i.e. the whole point of the plugin – you’re on your own. At best, you’re left with a technical and complicated guide for how to put the parts back together by hand. That’s an unpleasant shock for all but the most technical of users. When you backed up, it was “click-click-click”. Restoring… that’s “frobnosticate the urglethrob FTP unzip tharg, and dump import the reverse coupling phpMyAdmin panel spoogler”. Pardon?

Don’t set yourself up for that shock – go with a plugin that takes you the full distance: especially when you need it!
