Understandably, lots of users are cautious about updating their backup plugin – a lot depends on it.
On the other hand, new releases often have fixes for problems too – and in particular, for those very hard to find, strange corner-cases that can only be discovered when thousands of people are using the plugin on the full range of WordPress setups.
Our most recent release, 1.6.46, is looking very good now. It’s been installed over 10,000 times since its release, and only one minor issue has so far been found – on some hosts (actually just one has been reported so far – twice), PHP was unable to report the free disk space, leading to erroneous warning messages that disk space was running out. That issue is now fixed – if you update to 1.6.46 now then you won’t have that problem. 1.6.46 has been our most successful release yet, and we recommend that everybody upgrades as soon as is convenient.
