In April, we announced significantly faster uploads for Dropbox users. Our next release has the same bonus for users of Rackspace Cloud Files. We have implemented new code that adapts the amount of data attempting to be uploaded in each chunk, in response to network conditions. On a good network, it’s possible to send significantly more data in one go.
In our testing, this reduced the amount of time needed to upload one extremely large site belonging to a customer (99 Gigabytes !) by over 80%. We hope that our Cloud Files users will be pleased with this speed improvement.
