Email message when error needs to be obvious

When we receive an email about backup errors, the subject line and preview text read like everything is ok! Here’s an typical subject line and opening text…

Subject line:
Backed up: Janfay Corporate Recruiting (UpdraftPlus 2.13.15.22) 2017-12-28 06:03 (with errors (3))
Opening text:
Janfay Corporate Recruiting: Backup Report
Backup made by UpdraftPlus 2.13.15.22
Backup of: https://www.janfaygroup.com/site1
etc…

Email programs only show the first 40-50 characters each of subject line and opening text. So it looks like everything’s fine. This would be way better…

Subject line:
Error backing up: Janfay Corporate Recruiting (UpdraftPlus)
Opening text:
Janfay Corporate Recruiting: Backup Report
Backup made by UpdraftPlus 2.13.15.22
Errors / warnings: 1 errors, 1 warnings
etc…

We want to make sure we know when there was a problem backing up! Thanks for considering this. Mark, Agency Director, Sund + Co

    Hi,

If your email program doesn’t show you the full subject, then why don’t you set up an email filter so that if there was no mention of an error in it, it gets archived?
