Retention Settings and Automatic Backups

I have automatic update backups from over a year ago, on all the sites I manage.

As referenced below, as of Jan 2020, retention rules don’t apply to automatic update. So they pile up, I guess, forever.

A retention rule specific to auto update backups would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Automatic backups are not included in the backup retention rule. Those backups need to be manually deleted.

I agree. I just went through a fairly lengthy ticket with support just to finally discover old backups were not being deleted because of this. Huge waste of time. If retention settings will not affect automatic backups by default there should at least be a checkbox to include them.

I cannot understand why automatic backups are not counted towards retention rules. What’s the point, then ? I will NOT renew my subscription until this is fixed !
