Updraft Vault File Management

To: Product Development at UpdraftPlus WordPress Plugin

I am the Webmaster at https://hmm-265.org. We use Updraft Plus with 15 GB of purchased storage at Updraft Plus Vault. On 10/1/2022 at 3:25 AM I received the following email:
========================================
Your UpdraftPlus Vault is nearly full
Congratulations – you’re using more than 80% of your UpdraftVault quota (currently you’re at 83.9 % out of 15 GB).
If your Vault gets full, then UpdraftPlus will not be able to send any backups from any of your WordPress sites to your Vault. To buy more quota, please follow one of the links below. You can choose to pay quarterly or annually (at a discount).
5 GB more quota for UpdraftPlus Vault
15 GB more quota for UpdraftPlus Vault
50 GB more quota for UpdraftPlus Vault
250 GB more quota for UpdraftPlus Vault

I logged in to https://updraftplus.com/my-account/vault/ and found that there were 72 files and that each backup adds six files totaling 998.3 mb (1 GB), so I had 12 backups. I decided to delete all but four of those backups (24 files). I found that to delete a file I had to click “Delete” then click “OK.” To delete 48 files I had to do that 48 times. Imagine yourself sitting at a computer and doing that, and what you would be thinking about whoever wrote the code that sentenced you to such tedious, mind-numbing work.

Clearly we, the users, need a better way. Updraft needs to rewrite the file management process for Updraft Vault with the object of letting the user do the job in less time with fewer clicks. A good model would be the file management protocol for UpdraftPlus itself. The user selects the frequency of backups and the number of backups to preserve and from there it is pretty well automated.

The only thing “automated” about the current Vault management is the sending of an email offering to sell the user more storage when the current amount is almost full.

Anyone wishing to do so can reach me at [email protected] or [email protected].

    Hi,

    I see – some kind of multi-select capability would be useful?

    N.B. That can already be done in the UpdraftPlus settings on the website itself, or centrally from UpdraftCentral.
