I no longer have access to my WordPress site. I receive, “This page isn’t working right now. HTTP ERROR 500.” My plugins are Classic Editor and I can’t remember the others now. Never upgraded to WordPress 5 because the Merchant theme is not compatible. One or more plugins are probably not compatible with my older WP.

Since I can’t access my site, I am unable to follow the, “How to restore your WordPress site from a backup” instructions here: https://updraftplus.com/how-to-backup-a-wordpress-site-step-by-step-guide/

I don’t have FTP access but can talk to someone else who does. Is there a way to remove plugins via FTP?

What to do? Thanks for your help.

    Hi David,

Please see how you can deactivate a plugin in this article https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/ if you can’t access your website’s dashboard.

Thanks. I was able to get webhost control panel and FTP access and use my UpdraftPlus backup to restore the updated plugins. All is well. ~David Vaughan
