    Hi
    Getting this error message (plus warning about infrequently visited site)

    backup is being aborted for a repeated failure to progress

    Can’t find a solution – help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    I would recommend looking into this guide, which includes several suggestions to solutions and workarounds for the low visitor issue: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/why-am-i-getting-warnings-about-my-site-not-having-enough-visitors/

    Regards,

    This is the very same link you send out with each and every error message.
    I am aware of it. I have read it. It did not help resolve my issue.
    In fact it suggests to me Updraft will not work for my site because I am not listed by Search engines.

    I purchase premium services as I am working 20hr days and need reassurance the site is protected in my absence.
    Rather than having to install further apps, waste time hitting reload every 5mins during backups or setting up automated tasks through my hosting provider – I think it will be quicker and safer to go back to doing backups myself.

    Hi,

    Have you already tried setting up an automated visit as the below suggests?
    “Sign up with a facility like https://uptimerobot.com/, https://www.pingdom.com/free/ or https://www.easycron.com/tutorials/how-to-set-up-cron-job-for-updraftplus to get some more automated visits to your website.”

    Could you also try adding the following line of code to your wp-config.php file (above the ‘stop editing’ line):
    define( ‘ALTERNATE_WP_CRON’, true );
    This will enable the alternative WordPress Cron system. This is designed to allow scheduled tasks to be processed when the main WP Cron is not able to run.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle
