Hi, I have a couple of sites where the upload to Google Drive seem to take a long time. It says it will be rescheduled and then after some time it continues. It says about errors in Curl.php?
Thanks for helping me out ;-)

The log shows:
“0074.699 (0) Google Drive: Upload error: Operation timed out after 60000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (line: 117, file: /home/kameleon/domains/kameleoncommunicatie.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/IO/Curl.php)”That message indicates that the CURL request is timing out
Could you check with your hosts to see why that is?Regards,
BryleJuly 9, 2020 at 8:32 am #614813M.G.ParticipantHi Bryle,
I’ve checked with the hosting but there is not a clear answer yet…
I have 1 client at another hosting and there the backup goes well without upload-problems to Google Drive.
Can you maybe help me some more to where to look at? Is this because of some resources (which?) or PHP-settings (which?).
Or someone else has had this problem? And why does it upload some time and then it just stops?Hope you can help me further!
Thanks

Can you check and compare both sites if they are using the same CURL version? This can be found in the “Advanced Tools” tab.
It is possible that the current host is using an older version of it.Thanks,
BryleJuly 9, 2020 at 12:02 pm #614930M.G.ParticipantHi Bryle, sure:
The site where the problems are is using version 7.62.0
The site where it’s going fine is using version 7.54.0So even newer? Could that be a problem?

Thank you! I just tried logging in but says “FOUT: Verkeerde logingegevens.”. Can you double-check, please?
Thanks,
BryleJuly 10, 2020 at 12:10 pm #615663M.G.ParticipantHmmm strange.. Can you check again?
July 10, 2020 at 3:58 pm #615832Bryle CroduaModeratorHi MG,
Thank you!
It actually shows that at some point the connection gets timed out. However, UpdraftPlus is able to continue the process and it shows that this does not affect the quality of the backup though. You just need to let UpdraftPlus run longer.
I will also take a note of this and ask our developers to investigate further.

Thanks for checking, you are correct that UpdraftPlus continues after a timeout, and most of the times the backup finishes indeed.
But I’ve also seen that the retries are so many that the backup takes about 1 hour or sometimes even finishes with an error…For most of the scheduled backups it’s not a big deal if it takes long, but for the “backup before updates” function (which I perform manually for all my clients once a week) and the errors it’s not handy. So I hope you’ll find some more issues that might cause it ;-)
Are you aware of certain other plugins that might cause these timeouts btw?
Thanks,
MarcelJuly 13, 2020 at 10:30 am #617713Bryle CroduaModeratorHi Marcel,
I hope you had a nice weekend.
We are not aware of any. Can you check if any of your plugins use Google Drive?
Regards,
BryleJuly 13, 2020 at 3:02 pm #617885M.G.ParticipantHi Bryle,
At the moment I don’t have other plugins installed that use GD, but before UpdraftPlus I used another backup-plugin (xcloner) with which I also
uploaded to Google Drive… But I deactivated and removed this plugin. Could there still be a problem with this? -
