    Hello,
It doesn’t matter how long I’ve been watching WordPress versions update themselves, I still get nervous each time.
What is the best practice in terms of what to do immediately before a WP version update, so that I have a quick & convenient rollback strategy to a previous WP version if I need it? Is it necessary to back up the Core files in addition to regular files and database?
Thanks for your guidance, love your products.

    Hi Maggie,

You can enable the “backup before update” feature of UpdraftPlus. This will automatically backups the files that are affected during update so in any case you can just restore from previous backup.

To enable, go to UpdraftPlus “Settings” tab > click “show expert settings” > tick “Backup before update” and make sure to click “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page to apply new changes.

    Regards,
    Bryle
