I’ve been backing up successfully to Google Drive for many weeks from three locations.

    No problem at all.

Today (April 26 2014) I updated Updraft Plus. I’ve been working locally using MAMP. Then I usually back up to a temporary site on the web.

Now I can’t backup to Google drive. I’ve just done a lot of SEO work and I don’t want to lose it.

Everything I try results in this error message:

Invalid parameter value for redirect_uri: Non-public domains not allowed: https://exhibition:8888/wp-admin/options-general.php?action=updraftmethod-googledrive-auth

    Please help when possible. Thanks.

Following up on my previous post “Can’t Backup With Google Drive”

Updraft Plus gives me this message: UpdraftPlus notice: Click here to authenticate your Google Drive account (you will not be able to back up to Google Drive without it).

When I click that to authenticate Google Drive, I get this message.

    400. That’s an error.

    Error: invalid_request
Invalid parameter value for redirect_uri: Non-public domains not allowed: https://exhibition:8888/wp-admin/options-general.php?action=updraftmethod-googledrive-auth
    Learn more
    Request Details
    That’s all we know.

Also, even though I’m getting an error in the console and the log file, Updraft Plus tell me the backup succeeded with the date and time.

    Hi John,

That message – “Invalid parameter value for redirect_uri: Non-public domains not allowed” – is from Google, and is part of the policy on their authentication workflows.

This is the reason for the paragraph at the top of the setup guide for Google Drive (https://updraftplus.com/support/configuring-google-drive-api-access-in-updraftplus/)

    Quote:
“Note: The Google Drive authentication procedure requires that your website has a publicly reachable address (i.e. the https://etc… link can be reached from the Internet). Therefore, it does not work for websites on local development machines that are not reachable from the Internet. (Use Dropbox, Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Files, DreamObjects, FTP, SFTP or WebDAV instead).”

This has always been Google’s policy – if it somehow worked for you previously, then that is an unexpected event, but it’s not something Google support.

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi guys,

    I’m getting a 403.

0004.822 (0) Google Drive: requesting access token: client_id=yyyy
0005.412 (0) Google Drive: successfully obtained access token
0006.595 (0) Google Drive id_from_path failure: exception: Error calling GET https://www.googleapis.com/drive/v2/about: (403) Access Not Configured. Please use Google Developers Console to activate the API for your project. (line: 79, file: xxx/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/Http/REST.php)

    Folder permissions problem?

my folder is Client_Backups/FT. I it used to be ‘Client Backups’, I removed the space, figured it might be a problem, but the 403 still persists. Created APIs credentials as instructed.

    Hi Oliver,

This is in the FAQs, in the Google Drive section: https://updraftplus.com/support/frequently-asked-questions/ – “What does the error message “Google Drive … Access Not Configured” mean?”

    Best wishes,
    David

Ticking the Drive API not Drive SDK. Confused from the older plugin. Thanks David!
