I watched the Migration how-to video and read the how-to FAQ but both of them leave out one crucial final step. I am moving my site from one hosting provider to another. After migration, the site is successfully set up on the new hosting provider, but using a temporary URL/domain. How do I swap the domain so that the original domain name now points to the new site? During migration, UpdraftPlus searches and replaces the original domain name with the new temporary one… after I redirect the DNS, how do I change it on the new site?

    Old Site: farpointventures.com
    New Site: https://box5246.temp.domains/~farpoin1

    Hi,

As I can see the site is migrated here: https://box5246.temp.domains/~farpoin1/

So you’ll have to add the domain from cPanel and then need to go to your domain registrar or 3rd party DNS provider and setup/point your domain’s A record to your server IP address.

    Thanks,
    Harshad

    Hi,

So you’ll have to add the domain from cPanel and then need to go to your domain registrar or 3rd party DNS provider and setup/point your domain’s A record to your server IP address.

You can then login to WordPress admin, Go to Settings > General, Set Site url and home url to the domain of your choice.

    Thanks,
