Intermittent Issue – Error: Failed to open database file for reading:

I’ve had intermittent issues with the DB backup failing for our nightly backup.
Error: Failed to open database file for reading:
There is a db gz file created but is just a bit more than half the size of a normal backup.

Here are the logs lines that seem relevant to this issue. This is occurring every other night or once every third night.

This issue can occur if the disk space is full.

It ran for 5 days and got the DB backup but last night it didn’t again. Have the logs provided you any insight into why this is occurring?

Hi,

Apologies for the late reply.

It shows that the backup process is timed out or killed off.

Please can you ask your hosts/server admin to investigate their PHP error logs. These logs should contain more information on the exact issue that is causing the backup process to halt.
