Using the extension to backup files outside WordPress. The folder /assets has two sub-folders /assets/images and /assets/videos. The images folder has files in it.

Configuring the backup in this way

    2017-01-13_2320

    results in the following warnings

    2017-01-13_2321

How should it be configured to backup the folders/files and suppress the warnings?

    Hi Benjamin,

You can find the absolute path to the WordPress installation in the Advanced Tools tab of the UpdraftPlus settings page, list under ‘ABSPATH’.

This will give the path from the server root to your WordPress root directory. Once you have found this, you can adjust it to point to the ‘assets’ directory.

    Bryle,

    PERFECT, thank you.

Please consider updating the instruction “Be careful what you enter – if you enter / then it really will try to create a zip containing your entire webserver.”

    Bryle,

I get the same messages when using the absolute path and a wild card on the folder name

    /home/wwwclientpoacher/public_html/assets/*

The images sub-folder has content. How should it be configured?

    Hi,

I’m afraid that the more directories option does not support wildcards.
To backup the entire /assets directory, remove the wildcard. Alternatively, you can specify each sub-directory individually:
    ‘/home/wwwclientpoacher/public_html/assets/images’
    ‘/home/wwwclientpoacher/public_html/assets/videos’

    Best Wishes,
    David N
