Hello –
I just purchsaed UpDraft and have been loving it so far! One question I have is related to ‘other directory’ backups. I’ve tried every combination I can think of to enter a path for a directory I’d like backed up, and I continually get error messages that it’s not working.
The path should be either :
/httpdocs/blogmages
or
/blogimages
I’ve tried all sorts. Here are the combos I’ve tried and the matching error messages:
/httpdocs/blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
/httpdocs/blogimages: No backup of ‘more’ directory: there was nothing found to back up
blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
blogimages: No backup of ‘more’ directory: there was nothing found to back up
/blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
/blogimages: No backup of ‘more’ directory: there was nothing found to back up
blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
/httpdocs/blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
/blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
../blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
../blogimages: No backup of ‘more’ directory: there was nothing found to back up
httpdocs/blogimages: No backup of directory: there was nothing found to back up
httpdocs/blogimages: No backup of ‘more’ directory: there was nothing found to back upThe folder is definitely there and has plenty of items in it. Any ideas on what I can do to make this work?
Thanks!
Eric

The kind of path you’re trying to enter there is too short. There will be something to prefix upon it. I’m guessing that you’ve entered a path that is relative to your web hosting account – however, that is not an absolute path. To find the prefix, hover over/around the “WordPress core” checkbox on the UpdraftPlus settings page, and it will advise you of the full path to your web hosting account.
Relative paths are also not supported at all, so the ones beginning with .. or without / are not formats that can work.
Best wishes,
