I have a site that is set to back up files weekly, retain up to 60 backups, with incremental every 12 hours.
However, the list of backups only shows a single set of full backup files – plugins, themes, uploads, others, WP Core. All older backups, dating back to 2018, are database only (daily), and database/plugin backups (automatic update), plus manual-delete-only backups.
1. Why do I only have 1 full set of backup files?
2. Does “retain this many scheduled backups” set to 60 mean 60 full backup sets, or 60 files? Please could you send us a copy of the latest full backup log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.

The log shows “0001.551 (0) Retain: beginning examination of existing backup sets; user setting: retain_files=60, retain_db=120”
“0001.557 (0) This backup set (1657656800) was an automatic backup, and we have not yet reached any retain limits, so it will not be counted or pruned. Skipping.”
Looking at the log it is saying that the backup retention file has not been reached yet so it is keeping the backup set.

Sorry, what made you say that you only have a single full backup saved?
Can you please take a screenshot of the backup list? Does it show database, theme, uploads, plugins and others? If yes, then you have full backup for those dates.Thanks,

BryleAugust 24, 2022 at 10:57 am #1538758solowizParticipantHuh. Since I posted this, the weekly full backups have been happening and not getting deleted (unless older than 4 weeks).
Maybe I jiggled a setting or something. Also, I refreshed the page.
