Hi
.htaccess
I want to save my UpdraftCentral-Website (which is only used for UpdraftCentral) with a .htaccess-file. The reason is that nobody can see what is hostet on this website.
I made the “UpdraftCentral” page as private in the WordPress. This means theoretically nobody can see the page. But I want to secure the updraftcentral with a second methode, which is not based on wordpress. (.htaccess)If I do so the source websites can only be integrated, if the .htaccess-file is temporary disabled. Otherwise they can’t be managed. Even if I choose the “alternative connection method”!
Did someone else also have this issue?
SSL
An improvement for the documentation: Maybe it would be helpful to write somewhere, that SSL is only used, if the admin logs in on the source website (where UpdraftPlus is installed) over “https://domain.com” to create the key.The issue describtion:
If the Website was integrated over https and the .htaccess-file was not active everything is fine. After I activate the .htaccess-file the connection fails:
“Communications error”: “There was an error in contacting the remote site. You should check […]”Now I had to change the “Connection method”, to get it work again to “Via mothership (slower, but better compatibility with some awkward setups)”
But I don’t have a good feeling about this.
Is it possible to run UpdraftCentral with SSL and .htaccess-files?Thanks for a feedback.
Regards
