    I used a temporary clone to make a test copy of my WP site – (suggested auto version – from current WP page). After several attempts, I finally managed to complete the process and received a confirmation e-mail with links, but:
    1. Front page URL didn’t worka at all
    2. Dashboard URL connection worked but the page link was also not working.
    I connected via sftp and noticed that there are no plugin and theme files on the clone site and maybe something else is missing.
    I deleted the clone and tried migrating from the UpdraftPlus backup and the same thing happened.
    Via ftp I copied to clone server – uploaded wp-content, wp-includes and wp-admin directories – one by one – everything went even worse.
    Even dashboard page is broken.
    What am I doing wrong – what should I do to get a clone copy of my site on your server?
    I’m afraid I’m just buying and losing chips with each new attempt.

    Hi,

    I mean the log file which you get if you click on “View Log” for the clone operation in the “Existing Backups” section of UpdraftPlus’s “Backup/Restore” tab.

    Hey, hope I made it OK.

    I’ve deleted some old logs before, so I’m not sure the log is the last one.
    If it is necessary, of if it would be better I can make a new clone operation again – from 0, no problem.
    You yust tell me the procedure I have to take not to make a mistake.

    Hi Rajko,

    Sorry, the log that my colleague was asking is the backup log. Looking at the log you sent it appears to be different.

    As per your description of the issue, I believe the process has failed partway.

    Could you try to reduce the backup archive split size to 25mb? This will split the backup into smaller, more manageable files.

    To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 25Mb save your settings and run a new process.

    I will make a new backup first (splited on 25Mb parts).
    After that I will make fresh clone and send you report.

    I did everything you said. Twice. The cloning process has failed or is still in progress. What’s happening? What to do?

    It was defenetly not me, who deleted my clone site – I did it once about a week ago becuse it didn’t work at all – It was only report, that it works, I got connection to site and wp dashboard but there was not a clone of my site on those site – only fresh instal of WP without any plugins and pages … It was completely useles. After that I manually (ftp) mantransfered my site there but everything was even worse – after that I started to complain and after some tries I truly deleted clone, maybe 2 or times because nothing worked.
    Last clone I made It was definitely not me, who cleaned anything in last 2 tries. For both there was information tat they were in progress but newer finished. At last try we came to:

    On my Updraft account I still see one unfinished clone (https://v8h8sm370ht.c.updraftclone.com/wp) and it doesn’t work like allways.
    The other clone which part of temporary report I’m sending you before has really disapired.

    All I did is many times trying, spent a huge of my time inspecting what I did wrong and spent some tokens to get nothing. I’m very disappointed. All i want to do is to test the speed of my WP site on other server, because I’m definitely going to change server provider. I simply intended to upgrade my zpdraft plus account, choose another server, and migrate my site there.
    I’m afraid I will have to find another solution to do that or make migration manually, my old way. It works, but it takes to many time …
    Hope we will find solution before I spend all my tokens provided to make my test clone.
