I was able to get my site to backup using 100MB size in the “expert settings”.
I agree that it seems something is STILL WRONG. It took forever (almost 5 hours) to complete the backup with numerous resumptions.
It uploaded a whopping 1716 files to the dropbox!!! The October backup had 176 in the dropbox when set at 500MB.
The .zip files and .zip.list.tmp files were all left on the local server in the updraft folder.

How can you test if your backup is usable?

I received an updated backup.php file from Updraft this morning.
After applying it, & the host fixing SSL, & me enforcing SSL in WP, I was
able to completely backup 15gb of all files, to 4,024 sized files (*quickly),
and after downloading them, was able to open them with no problem.

This has fixed my major backup issues completely, and I suspect a
    restore will work fine also.

Thanks for the update zharley.dude and the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope Updraft sends me an updated backup.php as well.

    Hi,

Could you install the latest version of UpdraftPlus (2.16.63) and then try the backup again?

    Hi @carolyn2,

Please can you reduce the split archive size to 25mb? It appears that the backups gets timeout.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi @carolyn2,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Please can you try wiping out UpdraftPlus settings in the “Advance Tools” tab. Then reconfigure your UpdraftPlus settings again and run a test backup. If the issue perists, please send us a copy of the backup log and I will ask our developers to investigate further.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi @carolyn2,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Can you try using a different remote storage? Have you tried using Google Drive or OneDrive?
Can you test and see if you get the same issue, please?

    Thanks,
    Bryle

It simply quit probably because I don’t have enough space on Google drive. I’m thinking I will reduce the size of the media file (16GB) and try again.
