When I press BACKUP, RESTORE, or CLONE/MIGRATE the next screen that comes up has a transparent background. You can see the choices but also the text that is behind it. What’s up with that ?? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

I changed themes, deactivated all plugins, and the next screen background in RESTORE or CLONE/MIGRATE still remains transparent when it should be opaque. Please not it is NOT greyed out and can still be used. By transparent I mean you can see the the text behind it. I am using Chrome and also went through the process in Firefox and Internet Explorer and the problem still exist. Is there any way to add a screen capture to these postings? Note: in the original posting I should have not included RESTORE as it does not have a next screen the restore choices appear below after you click on restore.

    Hi,

Yes, it would be helpful to see a screenshot of that, so that I can understand what it is you’re seeing. You can add a link to any third-party image service; https://snag.gy is the on I used for sharing screenshots.

It does still sound like another bit of code loading CSS onto the page, though. If all plugins/themes were de-activated, then what other snippets do you have that could be loading CSS?

    Hi David,
This is the link to snaggy
    https://snag.gy/wo4Lj.jpg

The problem is showing up the same way in IE, Chrome, and Firefox.

I am encountering the same problem from both the desktop and the laptop so I have a high confidence it is not a setting in the OS

I have one domain running the website and a clone on another domain I use for development and encounter the same problem on both domains. I have not done any changes recently on the either website prior to the problem occurring. I discovered the problem as when I went to do a full backup on the main website.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Updraftplus on the development site incase there was a corrupt file and the problem is still occurring.

Updraftplus was working correctly then all of a sudden the background became transparent like you see in the screen capture. I have not added or deleted any new plugins before or after the problem.

I hope this is a lot of good information for you and I’ve tried to do as much as I could to eliminate causes.

Thanks, David for helping – really appreciate it.

    Hi Dave,

Something is stopping UD’s CSS file from being loaded, so that the styling isn’t applied. If you do “View Source” on the page, and search for lines with ‘jquery-ui-css’ in them , then what do you see? Also, if you open the web developer console (usually Control-Shift-J), are there any errors? (If in Firefox, make sure the ‘Net’ button is on in the console before opening the page).

    Hi David,

I found the “jquery-ui-css” line (there was only one line that contained it) https://snag.gy/L0Uhf.jpg

Here is a screen capture of the web developer console https://snag.gy/nYwy1.jpg

Not sure if I had the right button so here is another screen capture https://snag.gy/R0fxS.jpg

    Thanks

    Hi,

The error console indicates that something is blocking the loading of the CSS file – the ERR_CONNECTION_RESET line in this shot: https://snag.gy/R0fxS.jpg

That could be something on your computer, your network, or on the webserver. To work out, you’ll need to use a process of elimination – try a different computer; try from a different network. If it’s the webserver you’ll need to speak to whoever operates that.

    David,

Thank you so very much for helping me through this. It was way over my head.

I have tried two different computers with the same results so have a high level of confidence that it is not a local computer issues. I will try this weekend from a different network and that should eliminate the ISP. The only thing left then would be the hosting server.

Thanks again – I let you know how it plays out.

    Have a great weekend,
    Dave

Has anyone come up with a solution to this? The thread drops off with no resolution. I am having the same issue with Updraft Plus plugin. I am using this plugin on around 20 sites and have never had this issue. I have tried everything to correct it just as the original post says. Is there a solution? Thank you.

    Hi Brian,

What version of UpdraftPlus do you currently have installed?

    Best Wishes,
    David N
