Updraft keeping all the backups

    Hi,
    On several sites, I have this issue :
    – in the settings, I ask to make a back-up everyday, but keep only 3 of them
    – when I come back after 10 days for exemple, I have 10 back-ups, and have to delete them manually

    Do you have the explanation for this ? How can I prevent ?
    (in some cases, when I don’t come back in the back-office for 20 days or more, I have 20 backups or more, and the data-base is completely full, leading to errors, or even crash of the site)
    I have this on several sites…

    Hi Isabelle,

    Please can you send us a screenshot of the “Backup/restore” tab? Also a copy of the log of the last 3 backups that run?
    The backup log can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
    The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi Isabelle,

    “0042.804 (0) Prune old backups from local store: nothing to do, since the user disabled local deletion and we are using local backups”

    It appears that “Delete local backups” is currently disabled. Can you please check this in the “Settings” tab > “Expert Settings” > “Delete Local backups”.

    Hi, thanks for your answer,
    It’s ok now,
    but however, I didn’t uncheck the box myself in the first place (I didn’t even see there was an advanced setting link !
    I noticed this is happening only on sites where I have been using the Migration tool, could that be the reason ?
    But thanks, now I know what to do so solve the issue.

    Hi Isabelle,

    Glad it is okay now.

    It is possible that the settings have been reset. We always recommend you to check the installation after migration as every install is different.
