I have all my backups going to Google drive and they have been successfully backing up for months now.

I just copied down all the files from a large WP site to my local drive and then FTPing them to a new server. I am moving a site site to this new server (new domain) manually, I do not have the UpdraftPlus paid plugin for this new domain, that’s why I am doing this restore manually. This is just a test I am doing.

Anyway, I unzipped all the backup files and I noticed there is no “wp-content” folder in any of them. Why?

    Hi,

The UD archives (uploads, plugins, themes, others) are content that goes inside wp-content.

If you’re restoring manually and have already set up WordPress, then you already have wp-content. If you are restoring manually and haven’t yet set up WordPress, then you’ll get a wp-content folder as soon as you unzip WordPress itself.
