    Hi,

Can you look into the issue has mentioned in the screenshot? Please look here Updraft Issue

We don’t think the backup is working properly. Please let me know how we can resolve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

The warning message causes UpdraftPlus not able to create or complete backups. UpdraftPlus is only able to run when WordPress is loaded into memory, i.e. when the site is accessed. As such, UpdraftPlus is not able to resume the backups in good time.

I would recommend looking into this guide, which includes several suggestions to solutions and workarounds for the low visitor issue: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/why-am-i-getting-warnings-about-my-site-not-having-enough-visitors/

    Regards,

    Hi,

Sorry, I have gone through this but some points not clear to me. Can you please write the steps here for what exactly need to do for this?

What backup time we need to set up?

Our website file size is larger that’s why it is appearing or what?

    Hi,

Sorry, I would suggest going through the suggestions. I recommend the once that I’ve highlighted in bold text.

    Any of these should help:

    • If you’re a developer, or your site was only just launched, then don’t set your backup time to 1 a.m. until after you launch the site and have some visitors and your site is known by search engines.
    • Your web hosting company’s control panel may have the facility to set up automated tasks – you could set up a task to visit the site every 1 minute. This has a negligible impact upon on performance. If you want to look at this option, you should ask your web hosting company for help – we can’t provide specific guidance.
    • Sign up with a facility like https://uptimerobot.com/https://www.pingdom.com/free/ or https://www.easycron.com/tutorials/how-to-set-up-cron-job-for-updraftplus to get some more automated visits to your website.
    • If you’re just developing the site and need a backup *now*, then just keep the UpdraftPlus settings page open – it will make silent calls to the WP scheduling code in the background every few minutes (UpdraftPlus 1.7.15 and later).
    • Load up the site’s front page and hit “reload” every 5 minutes until the backup has completed.
    • If you disabled WordPress’s default “cron” engine, and attempted to call it another way, then seeing this message means that you are not calling it regularly enough. Call it each minute. This has a negligible impact upon performance; if your web hosting company says otherwise, then this is bad advice (your author is someone who has both run a web hosting company and analysed and contributed to cron code in WordPress core).

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Bryle,

It was working until I changed the backup drive to Microsoft’s OneDrive and purchased the UpdraftPlus OneDrive Add-on needed to do the backup.

Now, it’s not backing up files.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

This error is preventing the WordPress scheduler from working, which is why UpdraftPlus backups fail to complete.
There are also a large number of overdue events on that page.

Please could you contact your hosts/server admin, and ask them to investigate?
The error in question indicates that the site is unable to connect back to the server to trigger scheduled tasks. You can also read #3 from this FAQ: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/my-scheduled-backups-do-nothing-backup-now-stops-midway/

In the meantime, you can activate a backup cron system for WordPress by adding the following line to your wp-config.php file (near the top, just below the database credentials):

    define( ‘ALTERNATE_WP_CRON’, true );

This should allow scheduled events, including the backups, to run. (Please note, a string of numbers will sometimes be appended to the site address when this is active).

    Regards,
    Bryle

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have added define( ‘ALTERNATE_WP_CRON’, true ); in wp-config.php and then again I have clicked on ‘Backup now’ button.

Please look at the below screenshots and let me know should I still contact to GoDaddy support? If yes so which number of due events I have to discuss with them?

    wp-config
    Updraft

    Hi,

Did the backup run after adding the code?

If not then please contact Godaddy support and ask if they disable that intentionally on your website.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi,

The backup has been completed now. Please look at this screenshot Updraft backup

but before this, it was showing some warnings message. I have mentioned below. Can you let me know it is talking backup without any issue or need to check something for this?

    Warnings encountered:
    * A very large file was encountered: mwp-download/ca5c20af-6462-4ecc-9673-e3b8a0237f1c.zip.FkcAWv (size: 2283 MB) – two unsuccessful attempts were made to include it, and it will now be omitted from the backup
    * A very large file was encountered: mwp-download/4fa5d334-c53a-444f-974d-a48a4e55ed97.zip.DciFyp (size: 2237.6 MB) – two unsuccessful attempts were made to include it, and it will now be omitted from the backup

    Hi,

The warning does not affect the quality of the backup. However, it is best to fix the warning message. You can do that by excluding those large files from backup. Please see how to do it here – https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-can-i-exclude-particular-filesdirectories-from-the-backup/

    Thanks,

    Hi Bryle,

    Thanks for your reply!

Again we’re getting these warning messages.

Can we ignore the above warning messages?
and I have gone through with this link and I found 6 steps there. https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-can-i-exclude-particular-filesdirectories-from-the-backup/

Can you recommend which option I can look at?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I would suggest excluding the entire “mwp-download” folder from backup.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
