    Hi,
I allow http://www.[domain].com as well as just [domain].com on my websites.
I’m finding that I get backups under both domains and updraft is unable to properly manage the history so I get a build-up of old backups that aren’t automatically deleted.
Is it possible to force updraft onto just one of the sub-domains?

Is this the right place for paid-customer support? I lodged post 2 weeks ago and no reply.

    Hi,

Sorry this seems to have gotten lost in the forums.

Could you send us the backup log please?

    Best Wishes,

    Ashley

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

“0020.009 (0) Deleting local file: backup_2019-10-07-1256_wwwtheburrendahcomau_6ad23fba34b4-themes.zip: skipped: user has unchecked updraft_delete_local option”
    > It appears that the “Delete local Backup” option has been disabled. You can enable the option “Delete local backups” from UpdraftPlus > Settings > Show Expert settings.

    Hi Bryle,
    Thanks for the feedback.
I have several websites using UpdraftPlus and UpdraftVault.
I’ve included another log below that did already have the delete_local option on.
The real issue here is that the backups get spread across the null subdomain and the www subdomain (in UpdraftVault).

Do you have any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi,

Are you site URL and home URL settings the same, or does one include www. while the other does not?

Are you able to access WP Admin using both URLs, or does the admin page get redirected to one version?

    Best Wishes,
    Dee

    Hi Dee,

Yes, the Site URL and Home URL are the same value, both use the www. domain

Yes, I am able to access WP Admin via both URLs.

BTW … I have about 5 websites using UpdraftVault with the same problem … not on the same host (and use different WP install processes).

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus uses the site’s home URL for the backup label.
It appears that the method that you are using to allow the site to be accessed is overriding the ‘home_url’ for the site.

What method is used to support both versions of the URL?

    Best Wishes,
    Dee

    Hi Dee,

I’m not aware of specifically doing anything to support both versions.
In DNS I have A records for both the null domain and www both directing to the IP of the website.

I’m happy to add/install/do changes to force one over the other if that will fix the Updraft problem.

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi,

I just received the “80% full” alert again which reminds me that this is still unresolved.

Just to recap … I have lots of retained backups and they are split across 2 updraftvault folders … one for null sub-domain and one for www sub-domain.
I need to find a way to get the backups:
    a) In just one folder per website; and
    b) Retaining the correct number of backups.

    Looking forward to your suggestions.
    Thanks.
