**Update: Keyy is now live here: www.getkeyy.com**
Old blog post:
As we revealed yesterday that we were busy developing an opensource replacement for Clef, who recently announced they were ending their innovative two factor authentication app.
We can reveal today the new name and logo for our product. We’re calling it “Keyy” as it’s an instant and secure way to logon to your site using your phone.
We hope to launch in April, and we’ll be posting updates!
Glad to hear about this!!!
Wanna see what can it do.
It’ll have similar core functionality to Clef when it comes out in the next few weeks. We’re developing it as fast as we can!
Very happy to hear this. i have been an updraft plus user for years, and love clef. was disappointed when they elected to sunset it. Looking forward to seeing your replacement
HI, I’m very excited about having an easy & great 2FA plugin for WordPress, especially coming from the developers of UpdraftPlus – which I have found to be remarkably solid and reliable (and fantastic).
Can you please have KEYY send text messages to authenticate the user? I don’t want to require a dedicated 2FA smartphone app, but everybody has SMS text messaging. Thanks!
We already do more traditional 2FA that works with the Google authenticator app: https://wordpress.org/plugins/two-factor-authentication/
Maybe we’ll introduce text message 2FA in future.
Any more news on Keyy? Guess we are not having an April launch?
We’re just doing final testing and putting in a couple of final features in the plugin now. We’re also working on the website for it. But you’re right, it’ll now be May! But the wait is worth it, it’s looking very good!
Thanks Joe! – that is great news. Thanks for the update.
