I recently moved all my sites to another provider. My new provider for hosting does his own backup so I no longer need my paid account which was just renewed in September of 2015. Can I get a refund for the unused months of now till next September. Please let me know as I no longer need your services, which were great by the way.

    Hi Frank,

Unfortunately, we don’t have a provision for refunding unused support provision. (The very act of performing a refund would use more support time than our average customer uses in a year!). We’re sorry you won’t be using UD in future.

Just in general (whatever you end up doing) I’d personally not recommend having web hosting and backups from the same provider – it’s an “eggs in one basket” situation. If the hosting setup gets hacked, or the hosting company deletes your account by mistake, or something of that sort, you could lose both your hosting and backups in a single act, which isn’t great.

    Best wishes,
    David

OK, makes sense. My host said the WP engine doesn’t work with updraft.
Please make a note to not bill me next time my renewal comes up.
    Thanks

    Hi Frank,

I can recall heard from customers using UpdraftPlus on WP Engine. Though they encourage customers to use their own backup solution, UD isn’t one of their banned plugins: https://wpengine.com/support/disallowed-plugins/
