Please help. I’m ready to migrate my site to new WP install, took all day to upload the files, am ready to “Restore” and find that I can’t “search and replace site location in the database”. I can’t figure out why the free version seems to have installed rather than my Premium version. I installed my Premium zipped file (updraftplus.1.9.26.zip) via its Dropbox location, like I always do.
UpdraftPlus Backups is showing in my dashboard “Settings”, but once on the UpDraft page, there is no place for me to authenticate my account or add-ons. Neither can I “Manage Addons” from the plugin page.
If I need to deinstall this version and start again, will I lose all the files that took hours to upload?
I can’t figure out why has happened. Thank you for any help.

Hi Judy,
That’s a very old (in computing terms) version, from September 2014, with a couple of known security issues in it (long since fixed) – you shouldn’t install that. Instead, install the current version, which you can download from your account page here:
https://updraftplus.com/my-account/
Regarding the effects of de-installing, please see this FAQ:

December 10, 2015 at 9:06 pm #136824JudithParticipantWell, though, I have not restored the uploaded files yet. Are they technically considered backups at that point? They are not on the server that I can see via my ftp client.
December 10, 2015 at 9:09 pm #136825udadminKeymasterHi Judith,
Where are they currently?
David
December 10, 2015 at 9:12 pm #136826JudithParticipantI uploaded them via Updraft interface, and was ready to “Restore” them. I don’t exactly where they are physically before the restoring process, but I do not see them in the public_html folder on the server.
December 10, 2015 at 9:15 pm #136828udadminKeymasterHi,
They’re in wp-content/updraft – and de-installing/re-installing the plugin won’t affect them.

December 10, 2015 at 9:16 pm #136829JudithParticipantThe backups from my proofing site are still in my Updraft Dropbox. That’s where I was uploading them from — going from my proofing site to new WP site on my client’s server.
December 10, 2015 at 9:23 pm #136830JudithParticipantMaybe I have another problem. Weird. Now that I’ve taken a closer look, I do not even see the WP install on the server. But it must be there because the generic WP page is up.
FYI: https://exerciseafterbreastcancer.com/ and hosting company is Site5.
I’ll try to figure this out. Sorry if I bothered you for nothing. I really appreciate your quick attention. Thanks much!
December 11, 2015 at 12:41 am #136849JudithParticipantThanks again for your help. I gave the WP install a few more hours (total of maybe 6 hours from installation!), and all the files (incl. the WP core AND the uploaded Updraft backups) finally showed up in my ftp client. Overall, I think it was a propagation issue. I did uninstall the “free” Updraft version and installed the latest Premium version per your suggestion, without issue. All is working fine now. I truly appreciate your immediate attention. I guess I needed to be A LOT more patient with the installation on the hosting server. Thanks again… for your lovely plugin, your patience and your great support.
