Hi there, I am having trouble uploading my [paid-for] plugin. I am getting a screen with the following error message: “Please select a file”

    Cheers

    Maybe this will help….

Download your (zipped) file – you can find it on your order page and clicking on the order number https://updraftplus.com/my-account/view-order/

From your WordPress plugin page you need to browse and select the unzipped file that you downloaded to your computer. If you unzip it on your computer and try to select the folder that will not work.

    Click install…..

I don’t understand? You want me to upload it unzipped?

Hi again. I am just another participant user, but yes, that worked for me.
    From the WordPress Plugin Page
    – click the add new button, then
    – click the upload plugin button at the top of the page

Above the Browse button you will see the text “If you have a plugin in a .zip format, you may install it by uploading it here.”

    – just click the browse button, and select the UpdraftPlus Zip file
    – lastly, click the install button

    That did it for me.

    Good Luck

Thanks, that’s the normal way to upload a plugin? That’s how I was trying to do it.

    Hi Lesley,

It is possible that something is interfering with the upload of the plugin file.
You can manually upload the file instead. To do this:

    • Download the zipped plugin file to your local machine
    • Unzip the downloaded file using a zip utility such as 7-zip
    • Access your site via FTP or your hosts’ filemanager
    • Navigate to the ‘wp-content/plugins’ directory
    • Upload the unzipped backup folder to that location

You should now see UpdraftPlus in your list of plugins ready to be activated.

    Best Wishes,

Thanks, got it, though I’m still getting the error trying to upload other plugins :-(
