hello,
I just bought the webdav add-on to configure backups on my owncloud server.
but I can’t get it work, I don’t know what kind of URL to use…Owncloud says to use : https://mydomain.com/remote.php/webdav
I tried :
webdavs://myuser:[email protected]/remote.php/webdav
webdav://myuser:[email protected]/remote.php/webdav
https://myuser:[email protected]/remote.php/webdavbut it fails :(
edit: here is the owncloud documentation about webdav : https://doc.owncloud.org/server/6.0/user_manual/files/files.html
January 8, 2014 at 7:50 pm #18525udadminKeymasterHi Thomas,
UD uses webdav:// and webdavs://
I’ve got Owncloud set up on my machine. The owncloud install is at https://localhost/owncloud, and the consequent URL that I am using successfully in UpdraftPlus is:
webdav://myuser:password@localhost/owncloud/remote.php/webdav/
So, I guess that either: 1) the trailing slash is needed or 2) there’s a firewall in between your webserver and your owncloud.

Does your owncloud install work when tested another way? I use cadaver to test mine. If not, then look for a firewall that is blocking the connection.

thanks for your answer, unfortunatly it doesn’t work at all… with or without the ending slash…
in the meantime I thought about security and about sending my password in clear sight in this URL, is it really a good idea ?
what do you think ? my install is live on a web serveur … not locallyJanuary 10, 2014 at 8:56 pm #18530udadminKeymasterHi,
Does your owncloud install work when tested another way? i.e. Using a different tool that UpdraftPlus? Is it possible that the ownCloud install is not correctly set up?
If you send me your credentials to [email protected], then I can test them from here to get a closer look, and then I may be able to say something more helpful,

If your ownCloud is set up with webdavs (i.e. WebDAV over https), then the password will not be sent in the clear. The URL is then sent over the encrypted connection.

yes my install seems clean, everythings working fine with OS X and iOS syncing for example…
I’ll give it a new try, maybe I need to check owncloud options
thanksJanuary 15, 2014 at 12:22 pm #18534udadminKeymasterHi Thomas,
