Some of our acquisitions to date:
WP-Optimize
Our first acquisition was the WordPress speed optimization plugin, WP-Optimize in 2018. The original developer had created it in order to take the leg work out of database optimization. It had become a very popular plugin and grew to a point where he could no longer look after it and was grateful of our offer to buy it.
We committed ourselves to increasing the development time spent on the plugin and have since transformed it into a complete speed optimization tool, complete with caching, minification and image compression.
WP-Optimize now has over 1 million active installations and a 5/5 star rating on the WordPress directory.
All-In-One Security (AIOS)
We purchased AIO WP Security, a much loved free WordPress security plugin with add-ons and excellent reviews in September 2021.
The original author had another business they wanted to focus on and were eager for the plugin to remain free and highly rated.
In our first major release, we introduced two-factor authentication to the free plugin.
Since then we’ve continued to add regular, new features and maintained an excellent rating of over 4.5/5 stars.
We also consolidated the premium add-ons into AIOS Premium and added malware scanning.
AIOS now has over 1 million active installations.
WP Overnight
We acquired WP Overnight, a suite of quality extensions for WooCommerce, in January 2023.
WP Overnight already had the most downloaded PDF invoices and packing slips tool at the time of acquisition and so we didn’t make dramatic changes but rather committed ourselves to keeping up the incredible reputation the business already had.
TeamUpdraft already worked closely with WP Overnight before purchasing the organisation and so we were delighted when the existing staff agreed to stay on to the benefit of our customers.
Users continue to rate WP Overnight highly and the plugins continue to enjoy a near perfect 5/5 star rating on the WordPress plugin directory.
