    Hi,

    I am trying to import a single site backup into a multisite with UpdraftPlus Premium.
    It always fails and throws up the error:

    “Importing a single site into a multisite install: This feature is not compatible with pre-WordPress-3.5-style multisite uploads rewriting”

    Both the original site backup and the multisite are running wordpress 4.7.2.

    I understand that this feature is in permanent beta and I have read the guidance around this, but I can’t find anything about this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Brian,

    The message is not referring to the current WP version, but to the mode that the site is in, which usually reflects when it first began its existence (regardless of subsequent upgrades). Those earlier versions handled uploads in a very different way. When you upgrade, WP sets a compatibility flag so that it keeps working in the old way (in lieu of forcing the user to manually move lots of things round on their filesystem and database – or an automatic upgrade which would also have been horribly complex).
