Help restoring site from backup

    Hello, we had the free version of updraft doing regular backups before we just got the premium today. The site is having a lot of 404 errors and some 403 errors, the site is very slow and a lot of elements are not showing correctly. I have not done a restore of a site before so I wanted to check on the correct process, do I just go to the plugin page and hit restore next to the backup in the list that we want to restore? Is anything else required before or after this?

    Also we have these backups going to a bucket to store older backups. In the updraft plugin it shows a backup from 1/06 and then much older backups from july and may. Would we have to upload a backup we want from 1/04 from the other storage to the website storage to restore that one instead?

    Hello,

    If you are restoring your site to the same location and URL then you can use this guide.

    Regarding the backup from 04-Jan that is in another location, if this remote storage location is one of the supported ones shown here, then you could connect it to UpdraftPlus and then use the Backup / Restore >> Existing backups >> Rescan remote storage link. This would allow you to restore it directly.

    If it is not listed then you would need to upload them, either to a remote storage location you have connected or you could drop them into the wp-content / updraft folder and click the Backup / Restore >> Existing backups >> Rescan local folder for new backup sets link and then the Restore button.

    We restored it and it seems to be normal now but were having issues where it will load on phones but not on computers. This should be a webhost issue I think so you probably can’t help with that. Thanks for the assistance.
