    Hi –

    I just noticed that the “Standard” S3 pricing is now actually lower than the “Reduced Redundancy” storage, which seemed odd. Turns out, they’re looking to phase out the RR storage.

    Maybe it would be a good idea to remove RR from the list of S3 backup storage class options?

    (And perhaps you could replace it with “Glacier” in the list of options?)

    Concerning Glacier, this isn’t a simple drop-in S3 option. Data sent to Glacier cannot be retrieved instantly and programatically – https://aws.amazon.com/glacier/faqs/#dataretrievals. It’s not so much an S3 option, as that S3 provides a gateway to a product that behaves quite differently. As such, if we do ever support it, it’ll likely be as a distinct storage option (not as an S3 option).

    That makes sense, and thanks for clarifying.

    I have Lifecycle rules in my buckets that move the backups from Standard Storage to Glacier after 3 days (and then deletes it from Glacier after 90 days)… :)
