    Getting the following error in the dashboard on a site that i’m backing up for the first time:

    Warning: A zip error occurred – check your log for more details.

    Any idea why? I’m on WPEngine hosting and have several other sites on WPE that backup without issue.

    Hi,

    From the log, the issue cause of the issue is that UpdraftPlus is not able to open the following file:

    ‘wp-content/old/mysql.sql’

    You will need to either delete this file, or exclude it from the backup.

    This can be done through adding the following to the Others ‘exclude these’ list:

    old/mysql.sql

    thanks, i’ve added the exclude rule and the error message has gone away.

    out of curiosity, why would updraftplus not be able to open this file? corrupted or something?

    Hi,

    This file appears to be an SQL backup of the database from a different plugin.
    It is possible that the file permissions are not correct to allow UpdraftPlus to access the file.

    In any case, other backup files should be excluded as a rule, to decrease the size of the backup.
