Hi, i got an email from AWS telling me to get ready to migrate to longer ID’s and i’m not entirely sure if my udraft backups to AWS will be affected.

“Systems that parse or store resource IDs may not work with longer IDs. We strongly recommend that you test your systems interoperability with longer IDs. After June 2018, all new resources will receive longer IDs. We will continue to support shorter IDs for existing resources.”

here’s the FAQ, do you think i need to take any action to ensure the continued operation of my udraft backups?

Hi Jason,

It appears that the longer ids change is only affecting Amazon EC2 virtual servers, not Amazon S3.

If you are backing up to Amazon S3 with UpdraftPlus, no action will be required.
