I needed to transfer a publicly accessible site to a LAN access only site for testing purposes. Except that the recaptcha keys did not work on the new domain (obviously). Thus I could not login to the newly restored site.

I zapped the new installation and started over. This time I disabled the recaptcha plugin before making the backup. But it’s any easy mistake to make.

I could not exclude plugins from the backup because they are essential to the integrity of the content.

Is it possible the transfer process could include a defaulted-to-on checkbox “Exclude captcha plugins so that new site can be accessed” or words to that effect.

    Thanks for listening

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus does disable some specific plugins during migrations/restorations, to avoid errors (usually caching plugins).

I’m afraid that it isn’t possible to exclude all captcha plugins generally, as there is no feasible way to detect if a plugin adds a captcha.

However, if you can let us know the plugin that you had trouble with, I can pass it on to our developers to possibly add to the list.

    Best Wishes,
    David N
