Hello,
We are a new paid customer and I chose Updraft because it has the capability of sending backups remotely. We’re trying to migrate a large site to our servers, and the existing host provider is out of disk space and not cooperative. (refuses cpanel login, etc)
We’re sending the backup to a Google drive with plenty of space, yet we are getting zip file warnings such as the below.
It seems that most of them are jpgs. How stable will this backup be? Might there be just some missing images, which we can replace manually?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
0022.234 (0) Binary zip: error (code: 14 – look it up in the Diagnostics section of the zip manual at https://infozip.sourceforge.net/FAQ.html#error-codes for interpretation… and also check that your hosting account quota is not full)
December 31, 2018 at 5:04 am #332217inspirationParticipantI apologize for multiple posts, but add’l info may benefit –
This time I downloaded each file individually to my hard drive, and all zip files seem stable except for the uploads. The uploads zip gave a windows error and I couldn’t view the contents. Since we’re not allowed FTP access, I’ve installed a file manager and will manually upload this folder in question. *All* files under wp-content are included in the other split backup files, correct? And uploads zip *only* contains the contents of the uploads folder under wp-content, correct?
I just don’t want to miss anything that we’ll run into trouble with later.
Please let me know if you’re familiar with the error in the log, and based on the info, can we consider this to be stable with the exception of uploads? What would you recommend, or do if in the same situation?
Thanks so much in advance for your response –
The zip error that you are seeing in the log is because the server is out of disk space.
Before the backup can be uploaded, UpdraftPlus has to create the backup files on the server. If there is not enough room, the zip will fail to close. This is also why the Uploads backups are corrupted and will not open.As the hosts are not cooperative, you can try taking a backup of the Uploads section only.
First, delete any unfinished from the site, to free up room on the server.With the manual route, yes, the Uploads backup files only contain the contents of the
wp-content/uploads
folder.
All other content inwp-content
is contained in ‘Plugins’, ‘Themes’ and ‘Other’.Best Wishes,
