    Hello,

We’ve received this message twice in the last week and a half on June 2 and June 10:

The backup attempt has finished, apparently unsuccessfully.

    Errors:
UpdraftPlus Vault: Error: Failed to access bucket updraftvault-eu-central-1. Check your permissions and credentials. (1) The authorization header is malformed; the region ‘us-east-1’ is wrong; expecting ‘eu-central-1’.

I’ve looked everywhere in the settings to update the region for for the Vault, but I’m not finding it. Can you help?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

This is usually caused by a too-restrictive bucket policy, which doesn’t allow UD to work out the bucket’s region. Can you post the bucket policy? (Presumably, you have a custom one set up?)

    Regards,
    Bryle

    Hi Bryle,

It’s our understanding that those are Updraft buckets and we are not aware of any policies, restrictive or otherwise. We strictly use the Vault for backups and not our own AWS settings.

    Thanks,

    Hi Stephan,

I see. If that is the case, it means that the credentials you entered were incorrect. Please can you try to disconnect UpdraftVault and reconnect it again?

    Regards,
    Bryle
