    Dear support,

Today, I tried to create a local clone of a site that has already been deployed, so as to get a good place to work from when adding multilanguage capability.

In the process I ran into an issue with updraftplus that has stopped me in my tracks. Allow me to describe the situation:

The production site uses updraftplus, and has its backups stored on Amazon S3.

What I would like to do is create a local clone of the site from the latest S3 backup. So I install a pristine copy of wordpress, download the plugin from the updraftplus site (not the free version from wordpress.org) and install and activate it.

Next, I go to the Updraftplus settings page under addons to activate the addons I have purchased. I have a full developer license with all addons.

When I type in my updraftplus account credentials and submit them, the POST never returns, and it just hangs there.

If I then subseguently try to access any of the updraftplus settings pages, there is still no response.

I realize this might be too little to go on for you to help me, but please feel free to contact me at [email protected] for any further information you might need.

    Thank you,

    Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

    Hi Hans,

It’d be easier if you go to your account page – https://updraftplus.com/my-account/ – and then you can download a zip from there that removes the need to connect. i.e. Just install that zip, and you’ll have all the Premium features.

It sounds as if your local webserver might have a PHP module missing – but it’s hard to say. You might get an error message if you turn on WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php – or look in your PHP error log; there should be something there, if you’re seeing a blank screen.

    Best wishes,
    David

Thanks, that did the trick :)

I’ll have a look at wp_debug. Since I’m running the site on a relatively old local apache install, there might very well be issues.

Thank you for an excellent product and support. Keep up the good work!
