Hi.
When I click Backup Now and let the backup run until completion I end up having 2-5 complete backup sets.
I think this is somehow related to the time it takes to complete the first (and should be only) backup.
At some point (while uploading files to DropBox) UpdraftPlus starts creating a second backup set on its own and then when that doesn’t finish fast enough UpdraftPlus starts yet anther backup, and another and another….
Really a bad situation.
I have to do stop the backup job in order to stop this backup chain from continuing indefinitely. The test I just ran created 5 complete backup sets before I manually stopped the backup job.
My current setup is with 150MB max size for .zip files and I backup a little under 300MB data and about 12000 files. (I have excluded video files from the backup).
If I include the video files in the backup the complete size of the backup set becomes about 800 MB and if I run a backup here with the standard setting of 400MX maz .zip file, I get the exact same error with multiple backup sets – only here the extra backup is started before the original backup job gets finished with the “uploads”-folder.
I have the log files from my last test that resulted in 5 backup sets.

Please could you send us a copy of the log file for the backup? The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.
You can also set your reply to private if your prefer.
Best Wishes,

I notice that the backups are precisely 5 minutes apart. This has been seen before, and was traced to either the user’s browser or some other network component deciding to repeat the original “Backup Now” HTTP request.
To help us gather more information on this issue:
– Does the same happen if you use a different web browser?
– If so, does it happen if you connect from a different network? (e.g. use a mobile not over wifi, instead of a computer).David

The 5 minute “restart” of the backup job only happens in FireFox,
October 13, 2016 at 2:29 pm #176294udadminKeymasterHi Dennis,
Does it happen if you restart Firefox in “safe mode”?

If you are able to confirm whether or not it also happens in Firefox “safe mode”, that would be helpful; it would indicate that it’s a Firefox extension that is interfering and doing it. It could help others if the culprit could be identified.
