    Hi

    I am trying to restore clients website to dev. environment. I have done it before with success, but I don’t remember how I did it the first time. I remember I had the same problem… :)

    I can’t access the dev. site /wp-admin it redirects to the original site. All the pages are 404, “this page can’t be found.”

    The problem might be, that the original site is HTTPS and dev. site is HTTP. I don’t know what can I do in the dev. site DirectAdmin’s. Can’t find anything that would fix the issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    I can’t access the dev. site /wp-admin it redirects to the original site.

    Did you overlook to tick the search/replace tickbox when migrating? That is the usual cause of this – if so, please follow these instructions: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/migrated-site-searchreplace-database-can-now/

    All the pages are 404, “this page can’t be found.”

    This means that the webserver hasn’t been configured to handle permalinks; please see: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/migrating-site-front-page-works-pages-give-404-error/

    Hi,

    Thank You for Your reply.
    Did you overlook to tick the search/replace tick box when migrating?
    Made a new install do be 100% sure. Yes I ticket the search/replace

    This means that the web server hasn’t been configured to handle permalinks;
    Checked the FAQs link, but did not help me. mod_rewrite is enabled, file permissions in root folder should be ok.

    Any ideas?

    For the redirect issue, please can you provide a link to the migration log file? This can be found in wp-content/updraft on the destination site.

    For the permalinks not working, do you have a .htaccess file in the root folder of the install? If so, what is in it? Either WordPress couldn’t create it, or it could and the webserver isn’t configured to allow it to take effect.
