Automatic Connection Fails But Manual Key Entry Works

When I try to create a connection to the mother ship I get the following error…

A key was created, but the attempt to register it with [mothership url] was unsuccessful – please try again later.

Logs don’t tell me anything…

So I have to manually copy and paste the key and it works fine.

The console output seems to indicate no keep was actually generated, but alas… you guys don’t offer image hosting so I can’t post a screenshot… common’ guys…

Generally speaking, bought both premium versions of updraft backup and central…. both seem half baked…but central is much worse…

Can’t really figure out the point of Central… No update automation… can’t extend the mothership user to the children… so still have to create and manage user accounts for each build…. No option to hide updraft vault… (I bought the plugin so I can host it myself… why can’t I turn that link off?)

Anyways, probably not the place to rant. I do see honest effort here… Just don’t like paying full price for a plugin that is in such early stages of development.

As far as steps…

– turned off the firewall on both mother and child.
– made sure no mixed content or other ssl errors on both sides.
– the mothership uses a wildcard cert, but to be safe I added an a record for the subdomain I’m using….
– I use NGINX… Perhaps need to add a rule? Docs give no information on the location used to pass the key… or what ports to open in the firewall either….
