    Howdy,
Do you have any suggestions on how to get Gmail to stop adding my updraftplus backup email notifications to the spam folder?
    Happy trails, Mike

    Hi Mike,

I think that these days, when you look at a mail in the spam folder in GMail, it tells you why it was classified as spam. What does it say?

Gmail doesnt say specifically why it is classified as spam other than it is similar to email that was detected as spam by gmail’s spam filters.

I have added the originating email address WordPress<[email protected]> to my gmail contacts list to see if that might resolve the issue.

    Happy trails, Mike

Adding originating email address to gmail contact list has not worked.

The gmail spam message reads, “Why is this message in Spam? It’s similar to messages that were detected by our spam filters.”

    Please advise.

The gmail spam message reads, “Why is this message in Spam? It’s similar to messages that were detected by our spam filters.”

I think you’d need to speak to whoever at GMail manages their anti-spam systems to get much insight into that – I’d guess that you need to consistently mark these mails as “Not Spam” over a period of time, and then GMail’s systems will learn that they’re really not spam, and not mark future mails as spam for being similar to them.
