    HI,

I am a bit lost with the bakcup plans I can make in UpdraftPlus Premium.

I need to keep 1 backup per day for 1 week. So you can always restore 7 days back.
I need to keep 4 backups per month – 1 each week
I need to keep 12 packups per year – 1 each month

So in total the maximum of backups showing would be: 7 per week + 4 per month + 12 per year = 23 backups.

How can I achieve this with the retention rules?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

For this set up, you will need to confiugure your backup schedule (Files and Database) to the following:

[Daily] starting from next time it is [XX:XX] and retain this manuy scheduled backups: [23]
For backups older than [1][week] keep no more than 1 backup every [1][week]
For backups older than [4][weeks] keep no more than 1 backup every [4][weeks]

    Best Wishes,
    Dee

    Hi,

Can you send us a copy of the latest full backup log, please?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Regards,
    Bryle

    Hi,

Thanks for sending the log. It appears that you have the delete local backups disabled.
As the log shows “0116.376 (0) Prune old backups from local store: nothing to do, since the user disabled local deletion and we are using local backups”

To fix, please go to UpdraftPlus > Settings > Show Expert settings, Check the “Delete local backups” checkbox and click the ‘save settings’ button.
Please note that you would need to manually clear all the previous backup as it will not be counted in the retention rule settings.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle
