I’m attempting to backup 2 websites to my Google Drive. There is ample space on Drive yet both are stalling at ~45%. I’ve left overnight to no change. max_execution_time = 3600 on both. I’ve changed Split archives to 50MB.
JVA – The databases backup fine, it’s only the files that fail.
Manuka Australia – Both Database & Files stall at 45%

Please can you upgrade the plugin to latest version 2.16.4.x and also your PHP version to 7?
Then reduce the backup archive split size to 100Mb or lower to make the backups files more manageable.
To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 100Mb or 50Mb, save your settings and run a test backup.
Hi Bryle,
As per my initial email, the archive has been split already.
Both are running on the latest plugin version.
Manuka Australia is on PHP 7.1.
JVA’s theme is incompatible with 7.1, so must run on 5.6.
Issues are still present on both.
It appears that the backup is being timed out (which is expected) but is not being resumed correctly.
This usually indicates that there is an issue with the scheduler.
Please could you install the free WP Crontrol plugin, then go to WP Admin->Tools->Cron Events.
Do you see any warning or error messages on that page?
Best Wishes,
David N
