Backup stops in the middle

URGENT!
Hi, I use updraft plus on a smaller webpage and the backup works perfect – also the ongoing migration process to localhost! My Problem: I want to backup my other webpage with the same settings but more datas: Plugin (26,7mb), Design (7,5mb), Uploads (19gb), WP Core (15,2mb), Other (17mb). My Host is Strato – Germany. Ok same procedure: Maintenance off, directory protection off, wp super cache off – no cron jobs and so on… It i want to make a backup now (via ftp) than in the middle it stops – so no backup!!! What can i do??? Where is the problem – what wrong??? Many thanks, Manfred

Hi,

Strato have a maximum file size created by the zip binary of somewhere around 25-30 Mb. They are the only hosting company we have ever heard of who do this. To work around this, add this to your wp-config.php:

define(‘UPDRAFTPLUS_NO_BINZIP’, true);

Then start a new backup.

Thanks. Please do this:

1) De-install UpdraftPlus, and then re-install it – it’ll show the same version number, but there’s a small tweak in it, based on your log file.

2) Go into the ‘expert’ settings at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ tab, and change your ‘split’ size down to 25Mb.

3) Then start a new backup, and please send me the log file.
