Hi,
I am starting to see issues on a number of sites in the last few days, I think since updating to version 2.16.46.24 (3 sites so far) where backup fails to upload to google drive.
Google drive settings have remained the same and had been working for the last 3 years…I tried wiping the Gdrive settings on one of the sites and backing up again but the same thing happens, the backup fails to upload to Gdrive
Error message received in email notification below.
Google Drive: Failed to upload to Google Drive: failed to access parent folder (Do not know how to execute this type of object.)Could this be a bug in your latest update ?
Thanks for letting me know, Updraft plus to gdrive underpins all my client backups si it is business critical that it works ;-)Hugues

have been using Updraft for quite awhile backing up to Google, no issues. Then apparently since January 09th I’ve the same issue. No specific change or updates to my sites…
Seems to be an issue with the file Client.phpError log reports:

January 11, 2021 at 10:21 am #806691udadminKeymasterHi,
Please replace the file
wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/Client.php
with this file – https://we.tl/t-4TQSrBjCHr – and then re-run the backup. It will have the same result, but there’s more logging in the log file of important details to enable me to see what the cause might be.Alternatively, if you post login credentials (having ticked “Set as a private reply”), then I can log in and work directly on your site, which is quicker. But Bernard, don’t do that on this thread, as you’re not the creator of the thread – it would allow Hugues to see your credentials. Instead, start a new thread, and then reply to yourself on it as a private reply, and post the link to that thread here – then only our staff can see it.

Thanks for that, I’ve had a look and found the issue.
It appears to be a plugin conflict, specifically SEOPress Premium.
With that plugin enabled it’s loading it’s version of the Google SDK/Guzzle object over ours which is causing the above issue.
We are currently looking to see if theres anything we can do our side, I’ll update you when I know more.
In the meantime if you urgently need backups to be sent to Google Drive you could temporarily disable SEOPress Premium or see if rolling back to a previous version of that plugin works?
Hi Bernard,
Can you confirm if you also have this plugin installed?
Best Wishes,
Ashley

Thanks for the super quick feedback and your effort to find the issue.
I’ve tried deactivating seo press pro on another site that was failing to upload to Gdrive and can confirm that all is well when it is deactivated. The strange thing is that, so far, i’ve only had the issue on 3 sites but i have seo press pro on over 20 sites…
Do you want me to reach out to Benjamin Denis at SEOpress via a support ticket so he is aware or leave that with you ?
Take care
HuguesJanuary 11, 2021 at 4:14 pm #807023bernard.focquetParticipantHi Ashley,
Yes, I also use the “SEOPress Premium” plugin.
As suggested, if I deactivate this plugin the backup to Google Drive works again. Can you get in touch with the developer of SEOPress Pemium to determine what can be done to resolve this conflict?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
BernardJanuary 11, 2021 at 4:47 pm #807061aporterModeratorHi Both,
We have some changes our side that resolves the above issue they just need to go through our normal testing systems.
As for why it only happens on 3/20 sites are they all on the latest version of SEOPress ? I checked the changelog for SEOPRess and it seems in the last update they made some changes to Google Analytics I assumed these changes are what causes the above.
It’s probably worth checking with the developers of SEOPress to see if theres anything they can do their side e.g only load their versions of the SDK when needed, so that it doesn’t conflict with any other plugin that maybe using an older version of the SDK than theirs.
Hopefully we will get a release ready soon to resolve the above, or once we are happy with the testing our side I could send across a development build.
I’ll keep you both posted here.
Best Wishes,
Ashley
January 11, 2021 at 9:11 pm #807265bernard.focquetParticipantHello Ashley.
Thank you for your quick response and your investigations to find a solution to this problem.
We are waiting for the announced correction.
Identifying the problem is already part of the solution!
Best regards,
BernardJanuary 13, 2021 at 1:57 pm #808932hugues.audouardParticipantHi Ashley,
Here’s the reply from SEOPress:This is a known bug.
The solution is to downgrade to version 4.2.1 of SEOPress PRO
We have a solution for our next update to avoid this Google APIs conflict.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
