I have a fresh wordpress install on a localhost on my computer and have registered my updraft plugin. I need to use the migrator app on it to migrate my site backup I made but I can’t as I need to update the plugin from 2.15.5 to 2.16.5.24. It says I have some permission issues but I’ve not idea where to even look for that?

Can I not just remove it from my wordpress and upload the actual plugin for the version 2.16.2.24? I don’t see anywhere in my account where I can download a copy of the plugin. The only spot I see is on the “Installing UpdraftPlus” article, but you can’t download the newest version here.

    Hi Bretta,

Please can you enter your username and password again in the “Premium/Extensions” tab to connect your plugin to our licence server. Once connected you should see an update link. Click that to complete the licence activation process.

    Regards,
    Bryle

I have registered it and the update doesn’t go through. This is the error I get: “Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.” Is there no way to download the plugin version 2.16.2.24 manually??

    Hi Bretta,

The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/ownerships that are required for WordPress: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress

    Kind Regards,
    Bryle
